Der Celeron D wurde in den Jahren 2004 und 2006 produziert und basiert wie der gößere Bruder Pentium D auf dem Prescott- bzw. Cedar-Mill-Kern. Größtes Unterscheidungsmerkmal ist, dass der Celeron D nur ein statt zwei Prozessorkerne besitzt. Außerdem beträgt die Taktrate des FSB nur 533 statt 800 MHz. Die einzelnen Celeron D Modelle sind teilweise sehr ähnlich und unterscheiden sich lediglich in der Unterstützung für 64- statt 32 Bit und dem eXecutable-Bit. Man muss also schon etwas näher hinschauen, vor allem was die 64 Bit Unterstützung betrifft. |
